How do you measure a student's progress?

Progress is measured against a baseline taken in the first session, when the student works through questions from a real official past paper. From there, errors are mapped to the official mark scheme rather than described in general terms, a written lesson report reaches the parents after every session, and full papers are sat under timed conditions and marked to the official scheme. A single mock is a snapshot; the series is the trend, and the trend is what we act on.

Are lessons in English?

Yes, lessons are primarily in English. I can also teach in Italian for students who prefer it.

How much does a lesson cost?

Prices are monthly and published on the fees page in your local currency. They start from the month at one lesson a week; two lessons a week, the programme I recommend when a grade has to move by a fixed date, is twice that. Each lesson is 50 minutes, one to one, online, and the price per lesson is the same at both intensities. Exam months and a second subject cost more, and are agreed after the 20-minute assessment session, which carries no charge and no commitment. Nothing longer than the month is required.

How does a lesson actually work?

Online, one to one, on a shared whiteboard your child writes on too. We work on real past papers, marked against the official mark scheme while we go, and the board is sent over afterwards.

How long does the tutoring programme last?

It is one programme, bought month by month, at one or two lessons a week. It runs to a clear point in the school year: the mocks, the IA deadline, or the exam session. Some students need one month on paper technique, others the whole year; I say which after the assessment session, and nothing longer than the month is ever required.

Absolutely. IGCSE preparation is one of my core specialisations. I cover both CIE and Edexcel exam boards for Mathematics and Physics, with targeted past-paper practice and mark-scheme strategies to maximise grades.

What is the difference between IGCSE and IB, and which do you recommend?

IGCSE (taken at 14–16) builds strong subject foundations through structured exams, while the IB Diploma (16–18) is a broader programme with Internal Assessments and the Extended Essay. Many students do IGCSE first then progress to IB. I support both pathways and can advise on the best approach for each student.
